Ewan McGregor grew up in Crieff, Sctoland and left school to join the Perth Repertory Theater when he was 16. His parents were very supportive of his pursuit of an acting career and he studed drama at Kirkcadly in Fife for a year before enrolling in London’s Guildhall School of Music and Drama for three years. Right before graduating he left after getting the role of Private Mick Hopper in a six-part TV series called Lipstick on Your Colar. His first notable role was Alex Law in Shallow Grave in 1994, followed by The Pillow Book and Trainspotting, both in 1996. Today he is one of the most critically acclaimed actors. Just recently he opened a production company called Natural Nylon with friends Jude Law, Sadie Frost, Jonny Lee miller, and Sean Pertwee and they intend to make unconventional films that don’t conform to the usual Hollywood standards.
