Noted as the second African-American (after Sydney Poitier) to win the Academy Award for best actor, Denzel Washington has already proven his mark in the movie industry. This tall strikingly handsome man proves to be not just pure looks. His excellent acting ability has landed him for the title roles of several great and unforgettable films such as: Hurricane, Training Day, Pelican Brief, Crimson Tide, The Siege and the recently filmed American Gangsters wherein he co-stars with another academy award-winning actor, Russell Crowe.

Washington is married to former actress Pauletta Pearson whom he met at the set of his first screen role Wilma. Blessed with four children, the couple renewed their wedding vows in 1995. Washington being a son of a reverend is a devout Christian.

David Jude Law was born on December 29, 1972 in southeast London.  He began his acting career with the National Youth Music Theater when he was 12 and dropped out of school at 17 to star in a daytime TV soap opera called Families. His stage career began in 1992 and he went on to star in many plays in London and Broadway.  In 1997 he moved onto the big screen, starting out with indie films like Gattaca with Ethan Hawk and Uma Thurman.  Other notable movies include Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil and The Talented Mr. Ripley.

This soft-spoken, blue-eyed Irish boy has a penchant for portraying volatile characters. Cillian Murphy was born in Cork, Ireland in 1974 to a school inspector and a French school teacher. He attended Presentation Brothers College Cork and was preparing for a career in law, but discovered that he had a natural flair for the stage when he starred as Pig in Concordia’s production of Disco Pig. His theater debut earned him rave reviews and soon he was cutting class to go on tours. Cillian Murphy starred in several movies in the UK before American audiences came to know him as the bicycle courier in Danny Royle’s zombie apocalypse thriller, “28 Days Later”.

I don’t know what it is with this guy, Ed Harris. But everytime I watch one his films, i just can’t help but get caught in great awe because of his effectiveness in his played role. You should have watched that movie titled “the rock”, oh boy what a terrific performance he showed in that movie. Remember that part when he utters those words cursing those people in authority who gave him no choice but to order the execution of the sent rescuers? He simply delivered that line very well!

How about that film where he is a sniper trying to eliminate another well trained sniper? Yes, you got that right, its “enemy at the gates” where the lead character was portrayed by Jude Law.That was simply amazing portrayal of a perfect villain being a top notch sniper.

Hot Irish lad Jonathan Rhys Meyers was born in Dublin, Ireland in 1977. He grew up with a difficult childhood, spent some time in an orphanage, and got permanently expelled from school when he was 16. He was hanging out at a local pool hall when he got discovered by a casting agent spotting for the film “War of the Buttons”. Though Rhys Meyers did not get the role, he received calls to audition for a big ad campaign. He starred in several films between 1994 to 1999, with his best performance as Brian Slade in the movie “Velvet Goldmine” where he performed his own vocals. He still resides in Country Cork, Ireland where he grew up.

The public has made lots of controversies about his talent, but his career choices and his paychecks clearly show that he’s heading towards A-list status. Keanu Charles Reeves was born in Beirut, Lebanon in 1964 and his first name means “cool breeze over the mountains” in Hawaiian. He had a few small roles in movies until 1994 when he became a big action star in Speed (1994). The success of this film lead to an era five years long where Keanu had roles in mainstream and obscure movies. In 1999 he struk box office gold once more with the Wachowski brothers’ The Matrix. Keanu thinks of himself as a regular guy who likes riding motorcycles, plays in a band called Dogstar, and who shows up for the occasional movie shoot.

Zac Efron was born in San Luis Obispo, California and grew up in nearby Arroyo Grande. His first step toward an acting career began at age 11 when his singing lessons led to appearances in several musicals, including “Gypsy”, which ran 90 performances. Zac may only be 19 but he’s already made a name for himself after starring in the massive Disney “High School Musical”. He took his song and dance to the next level when he starred in “Hairspray”. There’s no official word yet but it is said that he’ll be starring in a remake of “Footloose” and is currently negotiating with producers for a third “High School Musical”. He’s also reported to be working on a “Big”-style comedy called “17″.

Johnny Depp is perhaps one of the most versatile actors of our day. John Christopher Depp II was born in Owensboro, Kentacky on June 9, 1963 and grew up in Florida. When he was 15 he dropped out of school to become a rock musician; for a while he fronted several garage bands including one called the Kids, which opened for an Iggy Pop show. Depp’s acting career began when his former wife introduced him to actor Nicolas Cage. His film debut was in A Nightmare of Elm Street in 1984. He starred in numerous teen flicks before his first collaboration with director Tim Burton in Edward Scissorhands. Johnny Depp has played a number of characters throughout his career. He has also been the center of many rumors, including one that said he sold drugs in his club, The Viper Room.
